About Dusty and Moulton Knives ...

As I stated in the welcome message, I started making custom knives in 1991, I started out as a full time knife maker from the beginning, in addition to doing my Wildlife Art work, I engaged in creating many styles of knives from basic hunting knives, to tactical knives, then to the higher end art knives. This situation provided for a totally self taught learning process that was quite serious. I still derive the majority of my personal income from the knives & engraving.  I have been a member of the Knifemakers Guild since 1997. I use CPM-154 & ATS-34 as the primary steels in my knives, as I feel they have all the qualities that are important in a knife steel.  I also use other makers hand made Damascus steel.

All of my knives are made by what I consider a free hand process.
The extra time it takes me to do a quality fit and finish by hand is what my Knifes are about. (I do not get in a rush) I strive above all to build a high quality product that the discriminating buyer will be proud to own. All of my custom knives are created by stock removal and each one is hollow ground to the best cutting configuration.

The steels I am using are the new very clean CPM-154 & sometimes ATS-34, they are Cryogenically Quenched for extra toughness, and Rockwell between 59 to 61. Most  knives comes with a tapered tang, dove tailed bolsters, a 2000 grit hand rubbed finish, And a variety of optional handle materials. They also come with a very a high quality sheath, also made by me. The specs on the tactical's will vary.    I will be happy to build you one, based strictly on the present model styles available.  Call or e-mail me and we will discuss it.
